Popravi Računalnik — IT Repair Goes Digital

The website became the first employee. Fifteen-plus qualified service inquiries land in the owner's inbox every week — pre-scoped, pre-triaged, ready to schedule. A one-person repair shop operating above its weight class.

  1. ELUMA's Popravi Računalnik is a local computer-repair shop. The technician is excellent. The business model was a one-person operation running on word-of-mouth, which is a ceiling, not a strategy. We shifted the shop from "the owner does everything, including typing" to "the website is the first employee" — inquiries now arrive pre-scoped, ranked, and ready to schedule.

  2. The one-person ceiling

Word-of-mouth works until it doesn't. A one-person repair shop hits the ceiling at the point where customer intake itself becomes a second job: phone calls during repair time, email quotes typed after hours, unqualified leads asking about phones the shop doesn't service. Every hour spent triaging leads is an hour of billable repair time lost.

The shop was excellent at the work, invisible to the web, and slowly being boxed in by competitors with even basic online presence. Classic case of a small business needing leverage without needing employees.

  3. What we shipped

Two interlocking systems on a Next.js + Tailwind stack:

    • AI intake form. The customer describes the problem in their own words. Claude classifies the symptom against a trained taxonomy (boot failure, liquid damage, slow performance, display issue, battery), extracts device metadata, and auto-drafts a quote with price range and expected turnaround. The technician reviews and sends. The typing is gone.

    • Programmatic local-SEO engine. Fifteen pages generated from a Python template — 5 service categories (laptop repair, desktop repair, data recovery, virus removal, screen replacement) across 3 cities. Each page has locally-relevant copy, trust signals, first-page-ranking schema, and click-to-call on mobile.

Galor Analytics wires in from day one so the owner can see which symptom categories drive the most revenue.

  4. The "first employee" effect

The shop now fields 15+ qualified service inquiries per week, each one arriving with symptom, device, urgency, and customer context already captured. Monday morning used to be four hours of triage. It's now a list of pre-scoped jobs ready to schedule — closer to a sales-rep's CRM than an email triage session.

Approximately 30% of inbound inquiries get filtered upstream before the technician sees them — out-of-scope requests (phone repair, laptop purchasing advice) are politely redirected by the intake form instead of eating inbox time. That's the kind of filtering a receptionist would do, but the shop doesn't have a receptionist. The form is the receptionist.

  5. The cultural shift

The owner stopped thinking of the website as a business card and started thinking of it as an operational surface. That mental shift — from "brochure" to "first employee" — is the real unlock for small-business digital leverage. The AI doesn't replace the technician. It replaces the typing.

  6. Where this replicates

Any trade shop with a finite symptom vocabulary (appliance repair, auto diagnostics, bike mechanics, watch repair, plumbing, electrical) can run this exact pattern. The intake form does 80% of the triage. The programmatic city pages do the marketing. The technician keeps doing what they are good at. Small businesses do not need employees to get leverage; they need the right digital surface.
